Abdominal Aerobics - 5 Tips

by John O'Brien

Even if your weight is normal, aerobics have proved to be greatly beneficial. These benefits include respiratory muscle strengthening and increased blood and oxygen flow. Osteoporosis and cardiovascular problems are also reduced. Some people like to focus on one part of the body: here are five tips for targeting the abdomen in aerobics.

1. Think about what the abdominal area is. It's not just the stomach region. The abdomen is the complete muscle system involved in your daily movement and stretching routine. So that's why it's important to focus on your abdomen during aerobics.

2. Think about repetitions. Adding stretches to your existing aerobic routine is an excellent way to work on your abdomen.

3. Make sure that the movement and stretching is in fact coming from your abdomen and not just your arms and legs.

4. During your aerobic execise, kneel down and move up and down into different positions using your abdominal muscles.

5. Always remember to keep your heart rate up by doing your repetitions at a sufficient speed.

Regular daily exercise will maintain body weight and health. Aerobics is popular among the health-conscious and can be used to target any part of the body.

Middle Back Pain: Less Common But Cannot Be Ignored

by Judy Wellsworth

While low back pain is certainly the most recurrent complaint, middle back pain is a different type of distress that can be difficult to treat with over the long term. It refers to the pain area in center of the spine. Middle Back is made up of twelve vertebrae that run along the middle of the back. Most of the time, middle back pain results from a strained muscle in the area, but it can also be caused by a herniated or slipped disc. These types of problems can be easily diagnosed through the use of an x-ray, and treatment can be determined by you and your doctor.

Dealing With Your Middle Back Pain:

The first thing you necessitate to think about what exactly you were doing because of which you felt pain for the first time. If you were not in good shape and just threw yourself into a workout regimen, your muscles are in distress and revolutionary against this all-too-sudden change, thus resulting in the discomfort you are now feeling from this annoying pain.

Simple and effective solution to get rid of your middle back pain relief is to use ice packs or get you a massage. If this does not suit you, you can always turn to medications which are easily available and effective such as acetaminophen, aspirin as well as naproxen and ibuprofen that are all known to help in providing relief from pain. There are also some people that turn to taking prescription painkiller as well as muscle relaxants to get adequate relief, though overuse of these can be harmful.

Probable Causes Of Middle Back Pain:

Bladder infection can lead to pain in the back, and requires being treated to get relief from the pain. This condition can either be acute or chronic and the former is a sudden development while the condition is a long-standing infection then your problem of getting rid of from middle back pain will become more serious.

Middle back pain usually occurs because of heavy weight lifting or excess of exercises. Most doctors will agree that if you are going to try bed rest for your middle back pain, you should limit your time in bed to a day or two. The best position to treat middle back pain is to lie on your back with your knees and lower legs elevated with pillows, or to lie on your side with a pillow between your legs. This will help to ensure that you do not suffer from additional back pain in the future.

Simple Strategies For Effective Acne Blemish Control

By Rebecca Prescott

Acne blemishes are something most of us have to deal with at some point in our life. Here are some simple do's and don't's that can help those suffering from mild acne.
Let's face it, most teenagers develop acne blemishes at some point and it could be seen as a normal part of growing up. The hormones in our bodies at this time stimulate excess oil and skin cell production which can block pores. These blocked pores are great places for bacteria to thrive, and inflammation and spots are the result.

However, there are a few things that we can do to keep those acne blemishes under control. The following tips will ensure minimum blemishes for most people suffering from mild forms of acne, although those with more severe acne should always consult a dermatologist for specific treatment.

It is a common myth that acne is caused by poor diet, which is not true. Eating fatty foods and chocolate, while they may not be healthy in other ways, will not cause acne. On rare occasions an allergy to certain foods may make your acne worse, so if you notice a pattern between what you eat and outbreaks of acne, you should avoid those foods. You should also make sure you drink plenty of water each day to cleanse your skin from the inside.

Some people associate having acne with being unclean, another myth that we need to discuss. Washing your face twice a day with a mild soap and warm water can help to remove the oil and skin cells that cause acne blemishes. However, using strong alcohol based cleansers, or scrubbing your face to hard or too often can irritate your skin and actually make your acne worse.

Oil from your hands can contribute to the blocked pores that cause acne, so you need to be careful not to touch your face too much. Now you are aware of this you will be surprised how often you do touch your face during the day, and how many of your spots are concentrated in the areas you typically touch. You want to keep your hair off your face as well because this can also transfer oil.

Be careful about the skin products you use on your face. If you are prone to acne and want to use specific products to prevent it, you can buy over the counter treatments containing low concentrations of benzoyl peroxide. This is an effective way to dry out any blemishes and unblock pores so the acne doesn't form in the first place.

If you use moisturizers or face creams make sure they are water based and not oil based. The type of products you should use is described as non-comedogenic. You should avoid heavy foundation make-up, particularly oil based varieties. If you have blemishes it may be tempting to heap on the foundation to cover them up, but you can buy products designed to give good coverage without making your acne worse.

If you use make-up applicators or brushes, you need to wash them regularly in hot soapy water to ensure bacteria don't build up on them and transfer to your face. This also applies to face cloths or anything else you use to wash your face. If they contain oil and bacteria they will be doing more harm than good.

Many people believe that exposure to the sun clears up their acne blemishes. Although the sun may temporarily dry out existing blemishes, it will stimulate extra oil production causing worse acne in the long run. Exposing your skin to the sun also increases your risk of getting ski cancer so can never be recommended.

The final and most important thing to remember when you are trying to control your acne blemishes is not to squeeze them! It is very tempting, but it will push the bacteria deeper into the skin and will make the blemish worse and longer lasting.

Why Acne Laser Treatment Is Gaining Popularity

Acne laser treatment itself is a much less invasive process than any form of surgery, and when combined with other acne medications, like Isotretinion, it's possible to eliminate the scar tissue and rebuild your complexion and healthy skin tone.
Using acne laser treatment to treat cases of acne was originally seen as a "last ditch" effort to clear up severe cases of the skin condition. When other treatments like cortisone injections had failed to cure the acne, the doctors would call in "the big guns".

These laser treatments are a process for curing an already existing case of acne – not for preventing acne from occurring in the first place. While prevention is always better than a cure, with skin conditions like acne that is not always possible.

A Drug Free Treatment That Works

There are various forms of laser treatment available, from do-it-yourself home kits to professional processes, and several in-between. When combined with other effective medications it's possible to eliminate the acne completely and rebuild scarred and damaged skin.

The way the laser treatment works is by bombarding the affected areas with short but intense beams of light. Different treatments use different types and colors of light, but the effect is that the skin and pores secrete a lot less oil.

Some types of light will also kill the bacteria that forms the acne, effectively "killing" it from within. Another positive side effect is that the light therapy has also been shown to help the production of collagen, which can then help improve skin tone and reduce and scarring.

Using light therapy in this way to treat acne is becoming very popular, not least for the reason that there are no known negative side effects, and the success rate is very high. It has been in us for many years, but only really started to draw heavy interest in the last few years. You will also start to notice the results a lot quicker than if using traditional methods (like drugs) to cure acne.

Laser treatment is also being tested on conditions like acne vulgaris, and the initial results from several clinical trials are very promising. The statistics show that well over 70 percent of patients who underwent laser treatment of one form or another, experienced noticeable results and a considerable reduction in their acne.

Over time, the success rate of this form of light therapy for treating acne is very high – in fact over a twelve week period, close to 100 percent of patients experience positive results. Compared to other treatments using drugs, which can take anywhere up to 6 or 8 months to notice a comparable result, that's pretty impressive.

Naturally, as acne laser treatment becomes more well known and publicised, many do-it-yourself home use products are entering the market. But don't be hoodwinked into parting with your money without consulting a professional and your doctor. The last thing you want is to irreparably damage your skin with high powered lasers.

Health And Beauty Benefits Of Honey

By Janice H.

Honey is best known for great healing. Its natural sugar content and the rich sources of nutrients makes it a great sweetener for coffee and sugar. Let's study closely how it started gaining popularity for the variety of uses ancient people started centuries ago.

Honey's rich nutrients, enzyme and antioxidant content combined with its ability to thwart infections makes it a potent healer. From ancient time, honey has been known for its high nutritional and medicinal value. It is believed to be very beneficial for eyesight, reducing effects of poisoning, stopping hiccups, treating urinary tract disorders, worm infestations, nausea, vomiting, cleansing, healing wounds and many more healing properties.

Honey contain mainly carbohydrates, water, vitamins and minerals, including niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.

Honey is also rich in enzymes, antioxidants and other phytonutrients. It also contains flavonoids and phenolic acids which act as antioxidants, scavenging and eliminating free radicals. These antioxidants substances found in honey have been responsible for the wound-healing properties of honey. Due to its wound-healing properties, honey has been used widely as an antiseptic therapeutic agent for treatment of ulcers, burns and wounds for centuries.

Due to its contents of glucose and fructose, which attract water, honey absorbs water from wound, drying it out so that the growth of bacteria and fungi are inhibited. Secondly, an enzyme called glucose oxidase found in raw honey, which if combined with water, produces hydrogen peroxide, a mild antiseptic for medication benefits.

The vitamins, minerals and amino acids found in honey make it a wonderful beauty aid. It provides great nutritional value to the skin and hair and the effects will be seen if taken over a period of time. In fact if taken for longer period of time, it helps our skin to glow more radiantly, helps to reduce wrinkles, thus making us look younger.

Honey is also an excellent moisturizing agent and natural cleanser and therefore, popularly used in wide skin-cleansing formulations. It increases exfoliation or renewal of the skin cells that makes the skin softer and younger.

Other supplementary products of honey which are royal jelly, propolis have been used in beauty saloon as facial mask that command great prices due to its effective results for a more glowing skin.

Due to its ready availability of carbohydrates, honey provides instant energy sources if taken prior to exercises which improves performances. It helps in muscles recovery faster if taken after an exercises program.

Honey also increases the growth and activity of good bacteria in the gut. Results from recent studies show that taking honey with dairy products such as yogurt can enhance growth and viability of bifidobacteria.

Other benefits of honey are its anti-inflammatory actions which help in treating a sore throat.

Honey can be taken as it is in one tea spoon without mixing with water first thing in the morning or anytime in the day as you wish. For me I prefer to take honey as it is with royal jelly and propolis in the morning before breakfast and drink. It provides me with energy for the whole day with royal jelly as a good beauty aid and propolis a great antioxidant too. After a short period of time, my complexion improved tremendously with intake of honey and this motivated me to continue taking it knowing that it has high antioxidant and healing power too.

Feng Shui Health Tips Can Change The Way You Lead Your Life

By Amit Bhalla

Health is wealth believes many and as we go through life the truth of this saying hits us with great force from time to time. Each time we fall ill or any of our loved ones are sick we feel that the only thing which matters is good health. We know that a little care towards the kind of life we lead will enable us to be healthy and happy individuals but often our busy schedules do not allow us much time for ourselves. As a result health problems have become a common occurrence in every home. Besides negligence on our part, we may fall ill due to certain factors beyond our control like too much imbalance, stress and negativity in our immediate surroundings. Feng shui health tips can help us understand the inexplicable causes that may relate to our health problems.

According to Feng shui, the ancient Chinese practice of balancing the elements to achieve peace and harmony in our lives, health problems occur when our environment is disturbed and we do not realize the imbalance and negativity that we are inviting into our lives consciously or unintentionally. Feng shui health tips can therefore effectively help us in eliminating the negativity in our surrounding space and enhance the positive effects of the four elements like earth, water, air and fire. Feng Shui health tips and rules may often help us understand as to why we tend to fall sick at when we shift to a particular house or change offices or simply when we change the arrangement of furniture and d├ęcor of a particular room in our living space.

Feng Shui health tips give great importance to the way we sleep as that is the time when our body is most receptive to energies from our environment. Feng Shui health principles strongly advice against the use and storage of any electronic items in the bedroom as they are known to emit harmful and negative rays that adversely affect the individuals using that room. Also mirrors in the bedroom are best avoided under the Feng shui health tips. This can be explained with the logic that bedroom should be an area of rest and relaxation whereas mirrors are reflectors that will bounce of energies and create too much of energy movement within the room. Hence a bedroom should be devoid of any material that can act as reflectors.

Feng Shui health also recommends that the lighting should be sufficient but never harsh and the colors used on the bedroom walls should be soothing rather than garish. An individual’s personal number which is known as the kua number helps a Feng Shui consultant is calculating the relevant direction for one’s health. If a person can sleep with his head placed in the right direction and eat his meals facing his health direction it will be tremendously beneficial for the individual’s health. Various Feng shui health objects are also easily available in the market like the energy balls, the three immortals, special pebbles and even the lead crystal sphere besides others. If the objects are correctly placed and principles of Feng Shui health are properly implemented, one can be blessed with a healthy, wealthy and long life.

Best Ways For Teens (and Adults) to Treat Acne

By Michele Buccia

The teen years are probably the most stressful time in a person's life. Adding the downside of acne doesn't help the self-esteem of a young adult.

Before puberty begins the body produces hormones called androgens which cause the oil glands to produce extra oil. This oil often joins together with dead skin cells. This combination gets into the pores and traps the bacteria and oil in the skin. The oil continues to produce while the pore becomes swollen becoming acne.

Here are some general tips on how to care for teen acne.

1. Never touch your skin with unwashed hands. Hands that are not washed with soap carry the germs from everything you touch throughout the day. These germs most definitely can cause teen acne or make it worse.

2. Wash your face every morning and night with a cleanser geared toward acne skin. Popular brands are Cetaphil, Basis, Purpose and Neutrogena. Washing more than twice a day can actually produce more oil in the skin.

3. Products such as Oxy and Clearasil work for spot treating teen acne. These should be used at bedtime only and not washed off.

4. There are several drug store brands such as Neutrogena that sell masks for acne skin. These should be used as directed -once or twice a week before bedtime. Masks are usually applied between 10 to 20 minutes and then washed off.

5. Moisturizer is not always needed for teen acne. Because the hormones are changing during this time, teen skin can become oilier than normal. Therefore moisturizers can cause more acne problems.

6. If you choose to use a toner, find one without alcohol. Alcohol will strip the outer layer of teen skin causing the production of more oil.

7. Exfoliating is great for teen acne because exfoliating will brush off the dead skin which combined with oil contributes to acne. HOWEVER - be careful not to use an exfoliant that is too harsh which could actually tear your skin. A product geared toward acne skin is best: such as Neutrogena or St. Ives Scrub (Medicated)

8. Using non-comedogenic and oil-free makeup and sun care products are basically mandatory if you want to protect your teen skin from further breakouts.

9. Do not allow your skin to burn in the sun or tanning bed. Sunburn will make your acne worse by causing more blocked pores because dead skin cells are shed faster.

10. DO NOT SQUEEZE OR "POP" your acne. This can actually cause an infection within the skin making your skin condition much worse. Also picking can cause permanent scars.

Remember because the teen body is going through a normal hormonal change, teen acne is very common. However, it can take up to 2 months before the skin starts to clear. If after that time the above tips do not seem to work, parents should be asked to make an appointment with a dermatologist. With the help of a professional, teen acne can most definitely be overcome.

Clear Your Acne Naturally

By Alex Mudge

You are probably unaware that you can greatly reduce your acne in a few days by detoxing your own body. Your body only has a few ways to expel toxic waste and those are your lungs, kidney, bowels and your skin. When you have a build up of toxins probably from foods high in fat and low in nutrients you may break out more often.

Drinking also increases the chance of acne because it puts extra stress on your liver to break down toxins in your body. As a result acne will appear because you will expel waste through the skin rather then the appropriate channels. Try eating foods higher in fiber and drinking plenty of water. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and take multi-vitamins to combat anti-oxidants and free radicals. Some foods like skim milk also have a tendency to make people break out due to the amount of bacteria in it. This is especially true of low quality grade milk typically found in grocery stores.

If you consume dairy and you want to avoid an acne breakout try to drink the highest quality “organic” grade dairy possible. Iodine has also been shown to have a correlation to acne breakouts. Foods such as fish are high in iodine although they probably don’t have a high enough concentrate to trigger a breakout. A good way to release the most toxins is by doing regular exercise. Make sure to exercise and sweat! Using these few simple tips you can reduce your acne complex in just days.

Choosing The Right Acne Cleanser

By Morgan Hamilton

You see acne cleanser ads every day and all of them do promise a kind of miracle cure, though very few actually do cure acne. I've been leading a war against acne for years, but even having reduced the fast food to once per day, all the cleansers I've used so far either do nothing or do so little good that it makes no difference at the end. And what is more, they not only curing it but even making it worse sometimes, drying the skin more than the necessary. And then I start from the beginning with the greasy meals that are supposed to compensate for the dehydrated skin and I do not think I can continue with that any longer.

Looking for a cure for acne you have to know that still no matter how advanced science and technology are, there is no effective cure for acne. Yes you can believe me because my face in the moment has more craters on it than the moon itself. Of course some cleansers are not as bad as others, however they are so few and hard to find. And what is more is that even if you decide to go for the most expensive one it is still no good at all. So why then pay a fortune for it, if it still does what the rest of them do - nothing. In my opinion there is nothing as stupid as that, don't you have anything better to spend your money for?

To be honest I have generally tried all known to mankind types of acne cleansers, starting from the simplest, basic ones all the way through to the most technologically advanced and specially formulated ones. And of all those cleansers the one that is still my favorite cleanser today is the Wych-hazel. This all natural astringent has effects very similar to the ones of the rubbing spirit, but without being so rough to the skin. Although it never actually cured my acne, it never made my skin go dry and peel off as lots of others did, and it actually did improve the condition of my skin and beauty.

Apart from the cleanser itself, it is very important to use mild soap, especially if it is possible to get special acne cleanser soap. It is so important because acne itself is a type of dermal irritation normal soap does irritate the skin every time you use it, so it can always make it worse than you have ever imagined. If you do have acne problems don't just go for the most advertised cleanser, go for the natural treatment, it has proved to be better.

Remove Acne Scars With Optional Treatment

By Morten Hansen

Most of us have suffered from acne at one time or another during our lives, generally during our teen years. Most of us were lucky to have by outgrown this phase of our lives without any lasting effects; however, some individuals are left with acne scars. From minor to major, you can remove acne scar with optional treatments.

First, you need to understand acne scars and to do that you need to understand acne. Acne is simply a term that refers to pimples or lesions that occur because the hair follicle is plugged, but there is much more going on than a zit on your face. Propionibacterium is the underlying bacteria that develop in the pimple.

Just as there are many causes of acne, there are many variations in the seriousness of acne. Mild acne may be just a few whiteheads or blackheads to severe acne, which includes red inflamed papules or pustules, and pus filled cysts. Serious cases can cause scaring and you can remove the acne scare with blue light therapy.

The most serious scarring is associated with the severe forms of acne. The best way to prevent scarring is to treat the acne early on, however it doesn’t always happen that way and many are left living with acne scars.

Today when you think, remove acne scar you will discover a lot more treatments than were seen just 10 years ago. Prior to that, those with acne scars really had little to choose from in the way of treatments. Today you have a variety of options such as Dermabrasion, skin grafts, and laser treatments. Laser acne treatments have quickly become the most popular form of scar removal. That’s because they are affordable, non-invasive, and effective.

Dermabrasion - These treatments are reasonably affective but they are invasive. This means it will strip away your skin down to the same level where the scar tissue resides. The skin then regenerates at a shallower level producing a smooth finish.

Laser Treatments – This is the least invasive treatment on the market and it produces excellent results. Remove acne scar with laser surgery acne treatment, which uses a laser that targets just the scar tissue. It removes the layers of skin in the targeted area so it does not irritate or disrupt the entire facial skin. Treatments are reoccurring until the scar tissue is completely gone.

Skin Grafts - This is an excellent treatment to remove acne scar that is too deep for other treatments to be effective. With skin grafts, the scars are cut away and a skin graft is taken from the ear to rebuild the affected area.

Peels - Peeling is considered a surgical treatment to remove acne scar. It works in the same manner as a face lift works, removing the epidermis or outer layer of skin taking with it the scar tissue. Several treatments are required because it is usually done in small sections.

Retin A - products are more often associated with the removal of fine lines and wrinkles, however their initial use was to remove acne scar and they were quite effective at doing just that.

If you are one of the unfortunate people that are left bearing the scars of acne from your earlier years, you can remove acne scars with one of the optional treatments, all of which have an excellent success rate.

Is There Hope For Teen Acne Sufferers?

By S. Wagner

I have to admit, I'm lucky. Not because I didn't suffer from terrible acne as a child because I did. But my daughter, bless her heart, has the skin of an angel. She certainly didn't get it from me. I guess her mother saved her skin on this one, no pun intended. However, there are many teens who do suffer from terrible acne that leaves them scarred for life. One has to wonder if there is real hope for those who suffer from acne without having to turn to dangerous drugs. This article is going to attempt to answer that question, so hang in there.

The first few things that I'd like to get out of the way are some misconceptions about what causes acne. Many people feel that acne is caused by kids with dirty hands putting them all over the face and simply not washing up. While this certainly doesn't help the situation any, it is not the underlying cause of acne.

As with just about every disease and condition that we suffer from, acne comes from within, or more specifically, from what we put into our bodies. While it is true that hormones do play a role in teen acne, this condition is worsened by the diets that most American teenagers live on. If you think that this isn't the case, take a good look at the skin of a person from China. Acne is almost unheard of in that country because of the way the Chinese eat. With an American diet of pizza, French fries, greasy hamburgers and sweets, it is a wonder that any teenager in this country has a complexion remaining by the time they hit the age of 20.

And to compound this even more, the treatments that we have for acne only treat the condition itself but not the underlying cause. That's why teenagers have to live on steady diets of acne creams and medications, all the while never really addressing the actual cause of the acne.

This kind of vicious cycle that we go through makes one wonder if there is truly any real hope for acne sufferers or if they are doomed to go through a good part of their teen years living at the dermatologist and spending most of their money at the drug store.

Fortunately, with the advent of a greater awareness of how important nutrition is and an understanding of what it is that really causes chronic acne, we are making great strides in natural treatments and true cures for teen acne.

In my signature, you'll find a resource where you can learn a simple procedure for curing your acne, naturally, without having to go to the dermatologist and without having to take harmful medications.

Is there hope for acne sufferers?
I'll let you be the judge of that.
To YOUR Health,
Steve Wagner

Teen Acne - Issues and Impacts

By Michael Russell

Severe acne can be extremely traumatic to a teenager, causing life long physical and emotional scars. Severe acne also can have a significant impact on how teenagers view themselves with some serious effects. These effects can include social withdrawal, poor body image, low self-esteem and self-confidence, embarrassment, depression, anger and frustration. These all have an impact on a teen's life and as such acne should not be taken lightly.

Because teens are going through a lot of hormonal changes in their body that come with puberty acne is a common result. Acne shows up in a variety of means with the most common being bumps of one form or another. These bumps can become inflamed, irritating and sore to touch. Not to mention that for teens it is an unwelcome attention grabbing mark on their skin

Acne can be hereditary, meaning that if the teen's parents had it when they were growing up then there is a chance that the teen will more susceptible to acne. Generally acne will disappear at the end of the "teens" but it can continue into adulthood. It typically appears on the face, neck, shoulders, back, chest and buttocks. So it is fairly visible which can cause social issues for the affected teen depending on the severity.

The skin's pores contain oil glands that produce oil called sebum. This oil lubricates the skin and hair helping to keep the skin waterproof and clean. Because of the teens hormonal changes during puberty their glands begin to produce too much sebum which when combined with dirt and dead skin cells can cause the pore to become clogged. If these blocked pores become clogged with bacteria stuck inside, then these pores can become infected with the bacteria, which then causes swellings or bumps and inflammation.

There are different kinds of acne as follows:

• Whiteheads - non-inflamed build-ups, on the surface
• Blackheads - clogged but not infected
• Pimples - clogged and infected, slightly deeper in the skin
• Nodules or Cysts (the most severe) - very infected and deep!
There are many reasons for acne to appear; amongst them are a few myths. Eating lots of chocolate or fatty food will not cause acne; it may however irritate existing acne.

As with most health issues, there are many different causes, which can be different for each person. Diet can play a part in acne. Food allergies can cause "breakouts", as can some medications. Stress whilst not a cause directly can also play a part in worsening existing acne, since stress increases the amount of sebum produced.

The simplest method to assist in preventing the oil build-up is to wash your face twice a day with a mild soap and warm water. Scrubbing will not work. It will in fact make acne worse because it will irritate the skin and pores. Wash as gently as you can.

Some people claim that sunshine is good for the skin. Whilst it may give you a tan to help hide the discoloration caused by the acne, it will not prevent acne, because sunlight causes extra oil to be produced it may even have a detrimental effect. If using cosmetics, make sure that oil free cosmetics are used and make sure they are removed properly.

There are many creams and lotions available in the shops these days, the main ones contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, which help to prevent acne and clear it up at the same time. Try different ones till you find one that works and do follow the directions properly. Remember there is no such thing as an instant fix!
If acne continues after trying the simple things then it may be time to consult your doctor or a dermatologist. They may be able to help prevent acne with prescription medicines.

The main thing to remember is that if you have a pimple, don't touch it, your hands have oil on them, don't squeeze it, or pick at it. Whilst it is very tempting to try to remove it this way, it will only make it worse, or cause a permanent scar.

Acne Remedies - The Natural Way

By Domen Lombergar

Natural acne remedies are proven as an effective strategy to treat acne. Acne is a common skin disorder that occurs in most people. It is manifested in the different parts of the body such as face, neck, shoulder, back and buttocks. Even though many treatments are offered, such as conventional and alternative, natural remedies have the cutting edge in acne treatment.

The popularity of the remedies is now increasing due to people who are becoming more aware of the side effects of the conventional treatments. Natural remedies have no such problem and are assured to be completely safe, as the products used for the treatment are purely natural, which most often does not have any side effects. Another unpleasant leftover of acne are the scars.

The natural remedies are supposed to offer permanent cures for scars, if used continuously for longer period of time. Furthermore they can preventively act against future acne attacks.

Ancient literature also tells us that natural remedies for acne were used in those days - they specify many of such treatments for queens and beauties. The traditional medicine systems such as Chinese traditional medicine, Indian medicinal system-Ayurveda, and Kempo-the Japanese medicinal system, are effective in present circumstances too. Many of the alternative medicine systems such as homeopathy also depend on natural remedies for treatment. The natural treatment utilizes herbs, seeds, flowers, leaves, roots and minerals.

These remedies are commonly used as topical application, but oral remedies are also available. They can be utilized in different preparation such as poultice, powder, and decoction. They're focused to cure the basic underlying cause of the acne. Acne appears because of the infection of bacteria in the clogged follicle - the natural remedies have active ingredients such as anti bacterial cleansers, which help to heal the bacterial infection and open up the skin pores. In addition to the acne treatment, they help to improve the complexion of the skin, since most of the natural remedies for acne are natural bleaching agents also.

Turmeric is one of the common ones. It can be mixed with the milk or curd to apply on the skin. It was a common habit in some Asian countries like India to use turmeric while bathing as the cleansing spirit. Honey is also a proven natural acne remedy. You can put it on the face directly or you can mix it with other remedies such as lemon juice or sandal wood. The vegetables and fruits such as tomato, carrot, cucumber, and orange have also used as packs on the skin. Steaming and massaging is recommended as part of the remedy treatment. Now, as a result of the increased popularity of the natural remedies, many beauty centers offer them.

Natural acne remedies for acne also suggest lifestyle modifications, such as to follow a recommended diet and regular exercise. The recommended diet must include zinc and vitamins in sufficient qualities as they are proven to be effective in the acne treatment. To avoid stress and strain of the modern living conditions, mental relaxation techniques are also practiced.

What Can A Proactive Acne Treatment Do For Me?

By Jo Wood

When you are having to tackle the problem of acne breakouts on your skin you can give it a thorough clean by using a proactive acne treatment in order to control and treat the problem. A proactive acne treatment is a combination of therapies that studies all the aspects of the problems relating to acne as well as searching out a viable solution.

The first step one should take where proactive treatment is concerned relies on the premise that the skin blemish is healed before any further steps can be taken to stop the reappearance of acne. The starting point of healing your skin with a proactive treatment is to examine the ways in which you clean you skin using an effective skin cleanser.

The best type of skin cleanser to use is one that exfoliates the skin and exposes the dead skin cells. Then you can treat the exfoliated skin with benzoyl peroxide which will kill the bacteria that causes the acne to appear on your skin. The benzoyl peroxide will also penetrate the skin pores as the skin has been exfoliated enough through the use of the cleanser. By doing this you are not only healing the spots already there but attacking the bacteria that causes them. This is providing you with not only a cure for your acne but a preventative measure as well.

Now you have this problem in hand, the next stage of the 3 way active approach to controlling acne is to choose a good skin toner. When looking for the right sort of product you should look for one that is alcohol free and water based. This type of toner will help to remove dead skin cells and unplug your clogged pores. This helps your skin to remain healthy and free from acne. A good skin toner will also help to remove excess oil that forms on skin pores which are prone to acne. Used on a regular basis this will help balance your skin's tone and maintain it. This keeps your skin acne free as well as the oil balance remaining even, which means no more clogged pores.

The final stage of this 3 way process is to use a repairing lotion which should be applied regularly to your skin. This will help your skin back to its original healthy state as well as helping you in the process of recovery. By the time you have reached this stage your skin should be acne free. It is important that you use an oil free repairing lotion that will heal all the blackheads and whiteheads that have appeared. A repairing lotion will make your skin glow and those acne spots will be a thing of the past.

So by using this form of proactive acne treatment you should be able to make your acne a thing of the past and have beautiful healthy looking skin from now on.

Natural Acne Treatments - Get Rid Of Acne With No Pills Or Harsh Lotions

By Jason M Paulsone

Acne is a serious problem that affects millions of people worldwide. There are many acne treatments that have been developed over the years. Many of them treat the problem of acne only at the level of the skin. Their focus is to clean the skin and keep it oil free and then apply a lotion that is supposed to keep the acne from coming back. However, many natural acne treatment programs focus on lifestyle and the effect one’s diet, immediate surroundings as well as stress levels can have on their acne condition.

The belief is that the real cause of acne goes far deeper than just the level of the skin. Many researchers think that the root cause of pimples is really a matter of looking at the kind of lifestyle you are living and that the levels of toxins in your body is a major contributing factor to your acne condition.

External as well as internal cleansing programs are important when it comes to getting rid of acne permanently. There are many ways to clean the skin externally and most people are familiar with these approaches. Using a mildly abrasive cleanser is ideal as it helps to remove the dead skin cells at the surface of the skin. Also it is important to nourish the skin and using natural skin moisturizers such as almond oil is great to keep the skin looking soft and healthy.

Internal cleansing is also very important in any natural acne treatment program. There are many cleansing programs that you can use, just take a look at your local health food store and ask for a ‘full body cleanse’ package. Going on a juice fast can be a great way to detoxify and clean your internal system naturally. Yes, it does require some discipline to not consume your regular fast food and packaged lunches but you need to focus on how beautiful your skin will look when you finally become acne free. So, going through a bit of pain will be worth it.

Many natural acne treatment programs also address the effect that stress can have on your acne. Many researchers believe that stress contributes greatly to your acne condition and that by simply reducing the levels of stress in your life can make a dramatic difference in your acne. How is stress related to acne? The answer is not fully known however there are many examples of where people that had severe acne took part in stress reduction programs and found their acne condition improving dramatically.

There are many ways to reduce stress from your life. One of the best ways is to learn how to perform meditation. The primary goal of most meditation practices is to help reduce excessive thinking. This has the effect of eliminating significant stress from one’s life as most mental stress is caused by simply thinking too much. Meditation will help you to quiet your mind and when you learn to have a quiet mind, you will attain great inner peace and inevitably you will experience less stress in your life.

Natural acne treatment solutions are indeed very effective, perhaps the most effective way to eliminate those pesky zits permanently. They do require a bit of commitment on your part to stick with the program and learn a few new skills but getting rid of acne is worth it. So look for natural acne treatment programs as there are many out there, you can even find them online as e-book programs.

Acne really is a serious problem, it deteriorates a person's self esteem and confidence. There is a way to get rid of acne for everyone. Sometimes it just takes a bit of digging to uncover the solution and to find an effective acne treatment that works well for you.

What Treatment Is Available For Severe Acne

By Steve William

Severe acne can be detrimental to the thin layers of skin on your forehead and face. It can also cause extreme irritation, resulting in open wounds, puss-filled pores, and unsightly scarring.

This type of acne is quite different than mild or moderate cases. Severe acne needs the immediate attention of a qualified dermatologist and your family practitioner.
Severe or acute acne can be caused by both environmental and genetic variables. Prevention and treatment are the best ways to deal with such cases. Seldom does an extreme acne sufferer's skin clear up naturally, but in most instances, it actually worsens.

Usually a dermatologist will recommend a combination of both topical cream and oral drugs. Several types available include different antibiotics, benzyl peroxides, Tretinoin, Adapalen and the strong, yet effective Azelaic Acid. Antibiotics and this acid can work wonderfully, attacking the source of inflammation-the bacteria lining the follicle.

The other topical drug, Tretinoin, is simply a form of vitamin A that stops the development of comedones, or inflamed hair follicles. While it doesn't necessarily stop the growth of bacteria, this is a more natural way of unplugging clogged pores that cause inflammation and lesions, thereby allowing the use of topical antibiotic cream to work deeply within the skin.

Another drug that isn't so natural in it's approach are the newer forms of Retinoid drugs. These drugs are quite powerful in the way they work. Like Tretinoin, these drugs, often Tazarotene or Adapalen, also help to fight off the development of comedones or comedo lesions.

These drugs, although not available over the counter (OTC), come in different forms. Similar to OTC drugs, these come in a variety of solutions, gels, lotions and creams. Your dermatologist will immediately know which type is right for your skin and prescribe what she or he believes will most effectively open pores and fight-off unwanted bacteria.

Dermatologist will routinely ask you which form of medication you'd prefer. Creams are good for those with extra sensitive skin, while gels and other solutions tend to make the skin become more dry and irritated. He or she may recommend one or the other based on gender and/or whether you live in a hot and humid climate.

At first, your skin may look and feel worse with the use of such strong medications. If the pain becomes unbearable or if you develop a rash or extreme redness of any kind, be sure to stop using the product and immediately talk to your doctor and dermatologist.

Similarly to OTC treatments, it will take up to eight weeks for you to actually notice improvements. But, once it begins to clear, it will make a world of difference to how your skin looks and feels.

10 Tips to Maintain Health and Beauty

By Paul W Wilson

Beauty, health, and nutrition are all integrated. If you eat a balanced diet you will be able to maintain your physique and glowing beauty externally and good health internally. A balanced diet is one that provides all the nutrients you need, the right amount of proteins, carbohydrates, and fat.
To achieve goals you need to ensure a good balance in your diet, introduce variety into your meals, and practice moderation. The basis of nutrition lies in your height, weight, dimensions, and your daily energy needs. Once you know this you can compute what your daily calorific needs are and set goals for weight maintenance, gain, or loss. By regulating your diet you can be active as well as happy.

You must:

1. Eat sensibly. Include a variety of foods in your diet such that the 40 nutrients that are required by your body are present. Make use of a food pyramid and calorie chart to prepare tasty and nutritious meals. Follow the “Dietary Guidelines for Americans” issued each year.

2. Eat plenty of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. They will supply you with essential vitamins, minerals, and protection from several diseases.

3. Maintain your weight at a healthy level. Successful weight management is one of the golden keys to good health. By doing is you will lower considerably the risk of many diseases like hypertension, diabetes, heart diseases, cancer, and osteoporosis.

4. Learn self control, eat moderate portions. The secret lies in eating everything but in small portions. Don’t give way to gluttony or greed.

5. Make a time-table for your meals and how many calories will be in each meal. Never fast, starve yourself, or skip a meal. Eat when your body demands sustenance but not huge quantities.

6. Practice moderation. Good health does not lie in eliminating carbohydrates or fats. Include all your favorite foods but balance them with the rest of your diet. If you indulge your taste buds by eating pizza one day, then try and do so at lunch time, never eat pizza late at night. Ask for low fat cheese and healthy toppings. Eat just enough to satisfy your craving not all 12 slices. Get a few friends to share you sin. The days you indulge, eat sensibly the rest of the day—salads and fruits will help you make up for the binge.

7. Be sure your meals each day include all the food groups.

8. Plan to exercise every day. Either walk or take up aerobics, dancercise, or join a gym. Exercise will not just burn calories but put a glow into your skin, tone your muscles, and strengthen your bones. Exercise also removes accumulated toxins from your body.

9. Maintain a dairy in which you record your goals, and what you eat each day. Review your week objectively and create a table that shows at a glance what you did right and what you did wrong. This will help keep you on the right track.

10. Celebrate each victory. Give yourself a present or take yourself out every time you achieve a goal.
By eating healthy, one can live a complete and rounded life without diseases, reduce stress greatly, look and feel great, be happy from within and without, age well, produce healthy progeny, and live life to the fullest.
